2 years ago, this "lawn" was a mars style landscape, now...its bursting with life. And I kinda like it this way.

Tis a broody season... currently have 5 very broody hens but only 2 of them are purposeful incubation stations. We had really bad luck this year with incubator problems, so we decided to put it back into nature's hands and placed 13 marked eggs between the two lower chickens and hopefully they'll hatch in about a week.

Spring lettuce mix is ready now for pickup on the farm! Salvanova variety is crisp, fresh and sweet, perfect for salads or sandwiches. 100g bags $2.50 each, 200g bags $5.

Though we are not yet organic certified, we grow using organic methods and are completely spray and chemical free.

In my opinion Sage is an underated, underutilized herb and has so many benefits including improved digestion, relieving gas and bloating, good for sore throats and antimicrobial properties, and calms inflammation in the body. It also helps with memory and supports mental focus and clarity. Both the flowers and leaves are edible for use in cooking or as a tea.

Oregano of course is great used in Italian and savory cooking like pizza sauce, lasagna, pasta sauce, salad dressings, greek seasonings. Its' potent antimicrobial properties are useful for sore throats, immune health and respiratory support.

Use fresh and then dry the rest!

The things you don't expect to observe on a farm....😅🤮

Its taken a few weeks, here and there but I'm finally almost done another 300ft of fence on both sides. Carving a fence line through this brush and forest is a challenge, but a rewarding one!

We had a prickly uninvited guest wandering around last night 🌙. Thankfully he was gone by morning!

2 years ago we started to breed and cultivate a flock of chickens that were hardy, smart, friendly and productive.

So we collected a variety of hardy, proven breeds and kept the healthiest, strongest and friendliest.

Also we wanted a rainbow of color in the shells while also providing nutritious eggs full of flavor and without hormones, antibiotics and being free range.

So we built a bigger coop in our livestock coral allowing the chickens to free range behind our cattle and pigs. This helps with fly control and the also help distribute manure into fertilizer.

Now production has been kicking into high gear and we are finally producing more then we can sell!

New fence line for the pasture, new obstacles same old lessons.

I got my chainsaw stuck again, can't reach this area with the tractor or the quad with a winch...yet.

It was time for a new blade and chain anyway 😄

Be cheaper and easier to simply learn the lesson to do a back cut first but I thought with how old the log was and the branches in the ground that it would hold. I was wrong again!

The short story of our piglets. Their journey will conitnue in their new homes 🏡 but we truly treasured the 7 weeks we had with them all here. Cuteness overload was a frequent occurrence but we were excited to see them move on to the next chapter of their own stories.

Any time Fen can hitch a ride, he will! He's obsessed with jumping into vehicles of all sorts. If you've visited the farm then you've likely experienced that and I apologize again haha. He just loves checking out other people's cars and riding in and on vehicles and wagons. I don't know, maybe that's an irish terrior thing...

Well we're graduating the meat king chicks (and a few stragglers from our own hatching efforts) out to the outdoor broader where they will stay warm and protected up off the ground until the weather warms up. We built this broader in 2024 and used it each hatch since then and it works great!

These 2 studs were given 5 acres to share so the ladies could have some peace. The girls were busy raising their new little ones, but little did we know just how close of a friendship they would make! Now they do everything together 💙.

Typical morning of our Great Pyranees Sheba on her rounds. We love her, along with all her many facial expressions, and her somewhat crazy personality ❤️.

She keeps coyotes, fox, raccoon, and stray dogs away from our animals and on her down time she moonlights as a large fluffy couch cushion and foot warmer.

These little guys are growing SO unbelievably fast! They've quadrupled in size already and they are FAST! Loving the spring sunshine in their house :) They all line up and bask in the sun.

Funny story... Rob built the new pig shelter in 1 day because momma decided last minute she didnt like her old house. She had her piglets out under the open sky in the cold and rain so he had to spring to action and quickly build a new structure for them.

Work on the mini greenhouse is underway. So thankful for this man! 🙌 I was able to construct the bottom frame myself for the greenhouse to sit on but when it comes to bringing my vision to life in the custom shelving to fit my 10x20 trays...thats all Rob. We replaced 3 broken panels and next we just need new hinges for the door and we're all set!
