Rob, Dad, and our neighbour Joe started on this new chicken coop build just based on Rob's sketches, and it's coming along great! Can't thank Joe enough for his help getting started. Now onto the roof and walls. Caitlyn framed and built the trap door for easy bedding clean out. Once complete, we will be splitting our flock into 2 groups - more to come on that later.

We're still trying to decide what design to use for our nesting boxes. Any suggestions? If you have chickens, we would love to know what worked well for you!

Little chilly out today so Winston, Piggy Sue, and Charlotte made a pig sandwich 🥪 He doesn't quite have the hair that they do yet ❤️ So cute!

Good morning from the farm and little Winston. This guy loves his morning pets so he will run up to us and sit his rump down waiting for head scratches. Super cute. Sound up to hear the happy grunts :)

Tomato harvesting season means no room to sit at the table anymore and all windows lined up with Romas! Lol this is only 1 harvest of probably 2 more big harvests. Cherry tomatoes were so flavorful this year!

Last 2025 subscription pickup tomorrow! Bittersweet with the end of the season nearing but I still have some flowers that just dont want to quit yet. The bouquets will be extra special this week with these gorgeous double-click cosmos 😍.

Really happy with our garlic this year! Music is the main variety we've grown and we love the huge cloves. We harvested about 40 pounds this year from a 16 foot bed, kept 5 pounds of seed heads, sold half of the remaining amount, and kept half for our family. Really great return on investment.

Has anyone else had good success growing other varieties in NB? What's your favorite?

🐖 Meet Winston! ❤️ Our newest addition to the farm:) He's a young Berkshire cross boar that will hopefully grow to be a big papa pig. When he is a bit bigger, we will put him out with his ladies, Charlotte and Piggy Sue. Hoping to have some piglets next year!

This week I've got some new blooms including Queen lime Zinnias, Double click cosmos, Bee Balm, and Orlaya. And a few snapdragons Finally!

I thought my entire crop was a failure but it turns out I just had to be a bit patient this year.

Farmstand Open 10am to 3pm today at 511 Saint Damien Rd Haut Saint Antoine. Pesticide and spray free produce and flowers grown and harvested here on our farm.

We have cured garlic bunches and heads, flower bouquets ($5-20 range), green onions, Swiss chard, kale, lettuce, basil, herb bunches (sage, Oregano, tea basil, lemon balm) first orange cherry tomatoes, and low maintenance house plants.

I cant promise the cows/pigs will be up to the corral today to view but usually we see them come up midday for water and salt lick.

Life with Geese is simple really, they just want to be fed, get some attention and get into something they're not supposed to...kind of like people 😅.

Whenever I'm outside I can usually hear the soft pitter patter of their webbed feet on the clover covered ground behind me and know Im not alone haha.

You can't escape them really...its kind of freaky. But I love them ❤️. Such characters!

Who knew you have to burn 🔥 poppies to make them last longer?
I didn't before I started this adventure of growing specialty cut flowers. If you would have told me that I would have laughed and said "you're crazy!"
If you're receiving a bouquet from my subscription program that has poppies in it just repeat this process at home when you're cutting to arrange the stems in your own vase. 🖤🌸

This is Lucy, Spot, and Yogi our Embden Geese. I can't believe how fast they've grown and also can't believe how FAST they can eat!! They are like little walking T-Rexes 🦖 and can decimate lettuce, broccoli and bok choy, and apparently they also LOVE watermelon.

These geese have bonded with me from goslings but they also know I'm the treat lady always bringing them something. Its heartwarming when they waddle right up to me and lay on my lap in the clover grass. If I ever have a bad day these guys cheer me up. 10/10 highly recommend getting geese!

It was a hot one today! Real feel was 42c with the humidity. But these girls know how to beat the heat 🥵. They find the mud and have a rollin good time 😄. Maybe I'll have to try that out one day 🤔

A few years ago when I starting researching having chickens, I watched a video about a "Chicken Tractor On Steroids". The name obviously caught my attention and I clicked on it ready to learn. What I found from the great Jeff Laughton and more specifically detailed by Billy from Perma Pastures Farm (link Below) opened a whole new dimension to owning chickens. I thought chickens were typically only good for eggs and meat, breed depending, but what I learned was how you can set your chickens up to work for you and how they would absolutely enjoy the process.
Simply by combining their old bedding (woodchips, straw, old hay) into a 2ft round chicken wire, water it down and add some scraps on top, it creates and incredible concoction! By unleashing a chickens most natural instinct, to scratch and peck, they can help you turn all that material, along with their poop, into a home grown source of rich compost.
Its been just shy of 2 years since we have moved and started building our farm, but if felt so fulfilling to finally turn this concept into a reality on our farm today. it didn't take the chickens long to figure it out the system and they were all too eager and excited to get involved. Now in a few weeks with flipping the piles and adding water every day, with the help of the chickens, I can have a consistent source of incredible compost for our gardens and orchards. 🐓💩🌽🥔

Over the last few days we have been working hard (while someone 😴) to build another 86ft of garden bed with another row under construction. Mainly planted with peppers 🌶 and tomatoes 🍅. This addition effectively doubled our growing space from last year!

These cuties are just so 😍 fun to watch grow and being able to bond with them is just the best. Im taking every opportunity to hold them while they're young and being raised in the house.

Soon they will go out with the Aunties full time. They double in size like every few days it seems.

They don't have names yet as we're not sure which one is a boy or girl but we have our guesses. Once we find out we'll give them proper names too.

Our greens are starting to be ready to harvest for this Sunday June 8th. Open 10am to 7pm on the Farm. Grown locally here on our small family farm without pesticides or chemicals. Lettuce, radishes, chicken eggs, and flower bouquets available at 511 Saint Damien Rd, Saint Antoine NB. Well be growing all summer and fall and the Farmstand will be open every Sunday same time and place.

Things are happening now! It's finally dry enough to get in here and finish filling in the trench and leveling the garden. Thanks to our good neighbours for letting us borrow their tractor! Also getting the goose pond dug to have a natural drainage area for the rest of the garden, swales, and grass run.
